About Apocalyptic Toddler Audrey
Genesis
On April 25, 2015, my wife stumbled upon this photo of our daughter and posted it on Facebook. Audrey immediately requested “Someone photoshop me walking away from an explosion, or at least holding a squirt gunâ€. That sounded like a good plan. I searched Google for a good explosion background and put my years of Photoshop experience to good use. That night, the first photo montage was posted on Facebook. Apocalyptic Toddler Audrey was born.
Continuation
I had that nice silhouetted version of the photo and a bunch of explosion background photos. Resistance was futile. I could not resist. So I started putting Toddler Audrey in other situations. I could always justify it as “improving my Photoshop skills.” On May 9, stormtoddler Audrey joined stormtroopers on a mission. The rest is history.
The rules
As I progressed, I established a few ground rules.
- The background image cannot be modified, except for level adjustment (to lighten dark images) and minor clean up.
- Toddler Audrey is always facing in the same direction as the original photo. She should not be distorted in any way. She should blend in the photo as well as possible.
- I made the rules so I can break them anytime.
The website
By September, I had about 60 photos and needed a better way to display them. So I started this website. I hope you enjoy it.
